Imagine my surprise when I woke up the first morning of winter vacation and snow was falling! Then my friend knocked on my window motioning me to meet her down the block. It turned out someone dumped a huge hill, which the neighborhood kids and myself figured was for us… our own snowy mountain to sled down. Unfortunately, Mom announced after lunch. It was time to pack to go visit our grandparents in Key West. That is when my life took a detour from Winter Sports to exploring life in the tropics.
